Get Your RV Summer-Ready: A Pre-Season Service Checklist
19 June 2026
Nothing kills a trip faster than a flat battery, a gas appliance that won't light, or a tyre that's quietly aged out. A bit of pre-season prep saves the holiday. Here's what to check before summer.
Tyres & brakes
Check pressures, tread and — easy to forget — tyre age. RV tyres often perish before they wear out. Make sure brakes are responsive and even.
Batteries & electrical
Test your house and starter batteries after winter. Check the solar is charging, lights and pumps work, and connections are clean and tight.
Gas & appliances
Light the stove, fridge and hot water. Look for a steady blue flame and check for any gas smell. If anything's off — or your gas certificate is due — sort it before you travel.
Water systems
Sanitise the fresh tank, check the pump, and look for leaks at fittings and the grey/black tanks. Flush through after months sitting idle.
Seals & bodywork
Inspect roof and window seals for cracking — catching a small leak now beats repairing water damage later.
Compliance
Confirm your WoF/CoF, registration, gas certificate, EWOF and self-containment Green Warrant are all current before peak season.
